Nostalgic Inspiration

Moruka Designs was created out of my love for my home country Guyana & my love for handbags. Moruka is the name of a village in the Guyana hinterlands. Before I left Guyana I was not able to visit the hinterland region where the Amerindians live and that is the inspiration behind the name. It is to pay homage to where I'm from & what I love.

Guyana is a melting pot of 6 beautiful cultures which include African, Portuguese, Chinese, European, East Indian & Amerindian. I want to share this with everyone through my designs so that they may carry a piece of the culture with them & be apart of something that's more than just another handbag line but a culture, a nation. The Moruka Nation.
